The Online Learning program is designed to be usable by any student with Internet access and a computer capable of running current web browsers. Online Learning courses use Moodle as a Course Management System. There are two ways to access your Moodle course—via myU portal or via the Moodle server.
Note: You may not be able to access the course until your instructor turns on the course site.
myU Portal
A web portal, myU is a resource that every student at the University of Minnesota has access to, which has information and announcements specifically for you and your class.
Access your course via myU portal
- Go to your myU portal page.
- Enter your University Internet ID/password. Click Login button,
- Select the my COURSES tab, and then click on the appropriate semester sub-tab (Active/Recent/Upcoming) to see the links to Moodle sites to which you already have access. Note that there may be 2 sections in your Active tab, Credit Courses You Will Be Taking/Teaching and Other Courses You Are Taking/Teaching. Be sure to check both sections for your course.
Remember to log out and close all browser windows when you are finished.
Moodle
You can also access your course through Moodle.
Access your course via the Moodle server
- Go to Moodle 2
- Click Login link in the upper right corner, and enter your University Internet ID/password.

Remember to log out and close all browser windows when you are finished.
